WRP Grounding Statement

Updated Feb, 2024

Wind River Pride consists of 2SLGBTQIA+* people and allies drawn together as individuals and communities across ages to celebrate joy, growth, and healing. We seek to bring our experience and courage to foster repair between us as peoples and with this land. Wind River is a land lived on by three distinct communities: the Eastern Shoshone, the Northern Arapaho, and non-Native Wyomingites.

Evolving and changing includes mistakes while learning, improving skills, and communication growth for personal and mutual healing. Honoring the resistance and persistence of the generations who came before, we aspire to be a community rooted in care. Resilience and joy are partners as we challenge established systems that limit us all wherever we live.

Join in our journey toward reciprocity and accountability for the Queer BIPOC** population of central Wyoming as we strive together towards healing and thriving for all people and the land.
